My 6 Players to watch in 2023

The football world never stops producing fresh new talent, and I have picked 6 who I think we should be keeping an eye on in 2023.

Erling Haaland - Manchester City Football Club

We cannot have Haaland as a player to watch, his stats speak for itself and he is on course to win the golden boot in his first season in the Premier League with Manchester City. Haaland’s hat trick away at Wolves was his forth hat trick this season, which has levelled him with Harry Kane and Alan Shearer as premier league football players to have scored four hat tricks in a single premier league season, which is an amazing effort for Erling’s first season in the Premier League and at the age of 22 years old. His goal scoring record at International Level and at league level is phenomenal and I can only see him breaking and smashing more goal scoring records in his football career.

Xavi Simons - PSV Eindhoven

Still only 19 years and bags of potential for this maverick midfielder, he left the glamourous Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer to join PSV Eindhoven to kick start his football career at PSV to develop and get more match time which is paying dividends to PSV with Xavi Simons becoming one of their key players, in the current Eredivise 2022-23 season with Xavi scoring 9 goals so far in the current season in 18 matches.

Youssoufa Moukoko - Borrussia Dortmund

After breaking into the first team from Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy, this young striker is one to watch, Youssoufa Moukoko played for Germany in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. This Season Moukoko has already scored 6 goals in this seasons Bundesliga.

Wilfred Gnonto - Leeds United Football Club

For me Wilfred Gnonto is one to watch. Leeds United brought Gnonto from Swiss Team FC Zurich. He scored a wonder goal for Leeds United in the FA Cup against Cardiff City. Gnonto may not be the tallest of players but he is a fast-paced skilful player with bags of potential, he has already broken into Italy’s senior national team.

Kaoru Mitoma - Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club

Kaoru has been putting in some eye-catching performances for Brighton this season, scoring 4 goals in 14 appearances, the Japanese International has a great addition to Brighton Hove Albion FC, already becoming a fan favourite.

Alejendro Garnacho - Manchester United Football Club

Alejandro Garnacho  joined United in 2O20 from Athletico Madrid, the current 2022/23 season has been Garnacho’s breakthrough season as Manchester United, making 17 appearances across the Premier League, Europe League and Carabao Cup, scoring 2 goals and making his presence know on the pitch with his impressive performances. At 18 years old you feel the best is yet to come for the Argentine.
